BUILDING

Discussions are ongoing with the Amt für Denkmalpflege des Kreises Bergstraße and the city of Heppenheim to plan the deconstruction or conversion of the cultural monument. Removing the upper floor will help restore the original volume of the prayer hall.

assessment, uncovering, and permits

To prepare for the renovation, the building's structure is first secured, assessed, and documented, including its current condition, floor plan, and photographs.

The goal is to restore the original layout of the prayer hall. To do this, remnants of the former residential use — such as wooden paneling, plumbing, and night storage heaters — were be carefully removed.

building research, reports, and in-depth analyses

The building is a valuable testament to the past, and it is our goal to preserve and protect it. To do so, we collaborate closely with architectural historians and environmental experts who conduct thorough investigations and document their findings.

Using their insights, we will create a sustainable plan that respects and restores the building’s historical integrity and character. Our aim is to secure the building for the future and preserve its cultural significance.

vision, renovation concept, and design plans

The renovation and usage concept is based on the insights gathered. A central goal is to reveal the original structure of the prayer hall.

Additionally, we aim to create a concept that transforms the building into a place for gathering. It will provide spaces for events, exhibitions, education, and consultation, fostering cultural diversity and encouraging community interaction.

realization and complete renovation

The building will be brought back to life through a careful renovation that preserves and enhances its historical structure. The work will meet modern standards while addressing the building's new usage requirements.

An experienced architect, specializing in heritage preservation, will lead the project with great care to ensure the cultural monument is properly maintained.
